For generations, The Balsams was a jewel of the North Country—but by the early 2000s, the challenges of maintaining such a remote, sprawling property began to mount. Aging infrastructure, high operating costs, and declining seasonal tourism strained the resort. After more than 150 years of operation, The Balsams officially closed its doors in 2011. Last fall, while attempting to connect the 52 WAV on foot, I stumbled onto the backside of The Balsams and was immediately intercepted by the caretak

Did you know you can get from the UK to France in just 90 minutes?⛴️🇬🇧🇫🇷 I took a day trip from Dover to Calais with P&O Ferries and it was such a fun experience🌊The ferry is spacious, with an outer deck, floor-to-ceiling windows and beautiful sea views throughout the journey☀️ My favourite part was the Club Lounge☕️ A comfortable space to relax with free Wi-Fi, drinks and food options, from light bites and breakfast to dinner on the way back 🥐 There’s also a Pet Lounge 🐾, World Duty Free

The all inclusive hotel veteran finds a TripAdvisor review written by someone who is currently staying at the hotel complaining about the cliquey returning guests 👀 Apparently Vetfast and asking whether you booked direct is now “intimidating behaviour”. Some people simply don’t respect hotel law #allinclusive #britsabroad #tripadvisor #ukcomedy #ukhumour
