These three western gull chicks have a long life ahead of them with some adults living 15-25 years. A marine gull, this species is rarely encountered inland and will nest on offshore islands and rocks along the coast. During nesting season, paired adults will aggressively defend their territory within the colony, maintaining established borders for the entirety of the male’s lifespan.
