Trying to explain what I can see is always tricky. When I say ‘nothing’, people struggle to grasp it - because how do you picture nothing? The best way I can describe it is… think about what you see out of your knees. You don’t. It’s not black, it’s just not there. That’s what most of my vision is like. So, when people say, "Oh, you're just partially sighted because you can still see a bit," it can be a bit frustrating. My vision isn't useful, which is why I'm registered blind. Plus, I can't see depth at all. But you know what? I'm super grateful for the little bit of un useful vision I do have! Being able to see light, big shapes, and colours helps me navigate life with my memory maps.
