Geordan Edward Andrew Murphy (born 19 April 1978) is an Irish rugby union rugby coach and player who retired from the professional game as the most-decorated man in Premiership Rugby history.

May 9, 2023 · Geordan Murphy was one of the finest Irish rugby players of his generation. Throughout his career, he made more than 300 appearances for Leicester Tigers and was capped 72 times by his country. After a successful junior rugby career, Geordan Murphy signed for Leicester in 1997.

The Premiership’s most decorated player, Geordan Murphy ended his 16th and final season in a Leicester Tigers shirt in 2012/13 with the eighth Premiership title of his career and announced that he would be moving into coaching at the club.

Playing in four Heineken Cup Finals for the club, with winners’ medals in 2001 and 2002, Geordan also starred in a record seven Premiership Finals for the club. He is Leicester’s leading try scorer and appearance holder in European rugby.
