Jun 24, 2014 · How did the term "Coolie" originate, and what drove it to become a racist term? I was debating with some people about the term "coolie" being racist, and a number of Americans aren't aware of the racist past of the word, likely because it is long obsolete. That got me wondering more about it's history, and usage.

Jul 18, 2021 · Same in Jamaica. My wife is half black, half Chinese, so it's common for people to call her coolie because she looks like an Indian. Edit: Here is a column by the Indian High Commissioner to Jamaica about the word "coolie". I also heard that the word "coolie" made it to Panama as "culiso/a" to refer to brown people with loose curls.

In the IFF section of the manual, page 326, it says use coolie outboard (right) to iff. In the HOTAS section, page 73, it says coolie right is inboard and left is outboard.
