Flow switch reccomendation for hot water recirculation system
Dec 24, 2024 · The tempering valve is set to 120F when the flow is high. However a modern shower head is 2 GPM. and the 120F is mixed to get it down to 100F or so. The switch is at the return line and when the pump stops the water there stops and it slowly cools from convention. Then the tempering valve flow is too low and the output gets hot.
Hot water recirculation pump orientation - Love Plumbing
Apr 6, 2020 · The recirculation pump is connected near C, where it pulls hot water out of the tank and pushes it toward the house through the hot water return piping. The question is, is that correct, or if the recirculation pump is in that location, should it be pulling returned hot (warm) water out of the pipes and pushing it into the water heater (to be ...
Hot water recirculation pump sends warm water to cold line.
Aug 17, 2015 · We had a hot water recirculation loop installed during a remodel. Sometimes we get warm water from the cold line at kitchen sinks when no water has been used for awhile. When replacing the Grundfos pump, I looked at the installation. The pump is in the return of the loop and is "T"ed into the cold water inlet.
Hot water recirculating pump with PEX manifold
Mar 30, 2021 · My home's plumbing system uses PEX with a "home run" type PEX manifold. The cold water supply runs from the manifold to the inlet of the water heater. The hot water outlet from the water heater first runs (back) to the manifold and then out to each hot water faucet in the house. The furthest...
Where to connect hot water recirculation line at water heater?
Feb 4, 2007 · Water gets colder Hope this thread is still active. I just installed my return line to the bottom of the tank. I also put the pump (Watts 500800) in the return line because I didn't want to potentially limit the flow on the hot side. Water circulates fine but as I shower the water gets progressivly colder.
Recirculating pump return on cold? - Love Plumbing & Remodel
Dec 7, 2020 · By using a recirculation pump and return loop, the Hot or Warm water arriving at the faucet will only need to travel from where the Hot line crosses over to the return line. If the cross over location is directly before the faucet 3/8" connectors, then only perhaps 2' of cold water within the 3/8" faucet line will need to be cleared out before ...
Watts Recirculation Pump questions - Love Plumbing & Remodel
Dec 3, 2022 · While a recirculation pump at the WH is easier as there's usually power there, one designed to install under a sink may work better as it's closer to the point where you want the warm water. The one I have shuts off when the water at the sink is like 95-degrees F. Some are adjustable through a wide range.

Jun 28, 2021 · Hi, I am trying to figure out a design for a hot water recirculation system with a dedicated return line. Below is a rough drawing of my layout. The farthest sink from my water heater is the kitchen sink. The issue is there are three …
Check valves in hot water recirc loop - Love Plumbing & Remodel
Feb 2, 2014 · About 2 years ago I implemented a recirc system in my house that uses a small Taco pump and a third recirc leg. We're really happy with how it works for the most part. Check the schematic... I installed a pair of check valves on each of the "input" legs to the pump to prevent cold water from somehow sneaking back into the hot leg, and they do work.
Hot water recirculating caused leak? - Love Plumbing & Remodel
Sep 6, 2017 · The pump is quite small (something like 1/28th HP, if I remember correctly). Without the system on (say I get up extra early for something), it takes about 2-minutes to get hot water at my shower...with it running, less than 10-seconds. Since I run the tub spout until I get hot water, that means each time I'm saving about 10-12g of water.
