Families of two slain First Nations women believe they are one step closer to the answers they’ve been seeking for almost two years, as the third stage of the search for the women’s remains gets underway.

The effort to find the remains of two slain First Nations women in a landfill is on track and excavation in the target area is set to start in early December, Premier Wab Kinew said Wednesday.

Preparation work has begun in the search for two Indigenous women whose remains were dumped by their killer in a Winnipeg-area landfill. Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew says crews are moving into the next stage and will being to process and analyze materials in early December.
