It is said often that no one series is more important than another, and be it only mid-June, that adage rings true with nearly 60% of the Braves’ season remaining. Yet the Braves find themselves teetering on the edge of must-win territory as they await the start of a three-game series against the first-place Mets on Tuesday at Truist Park.
The latest evidence: The Rockies’ 12-4 loss to the Braves on Friday night at Truist Field, in which the Braves scored 11 runs in their last three at-bats. Consider: Colorado got an excellent start from German Marquez and ripped Atlanta pitching for 14 hits, on the road no less.
