Kolkata: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday visited Kolkata and Petrapole border to attend several programmes. Speaking at both the places, Shah said that the saffron camp's next ‘big’ target is to form the state government in West Bengal for building ‘Shonar Bangla’.

Kolkata:�In his first visit to West Bengal after the Lok Sabha Election, union home minister Amit Shah on Sunday gave a call to oust Trinamul Congress from power in the state in 2026.

Union Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah, while addressing a gathering in Kolkata on Sunday (27 October), declared that the BJP would take power in Bengal in 2026. "Mamata didi was rejoicing after our seats were reduced (in the Lok Sabha polls).

During the event, the former BJP chief attacked CM Mamata Banerjee and said that joining the saffron party in West Bengal means joining the mission to free the state from the grip of communists and Mamata Didi.

In West Bengal, the BJP's Lok Sabha tally dropped from 18 in 2019 to 12 in 2024. Shah said the TMC may celebrate for now, but it cannot stop the saffron party in 2024.

Amit Shah, during a membership drive in Kolkata, accuses the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government of encouraging infiltration and alludes to the RG Kar rape-murder incident, asserting that Bengal needs a BJP government in 2026 for enhanced security and to curb illegal infiltration.
