ITV has officially announced its drama about the U.K.’s phone-hacking scandal and investigation, a seven-part series now entitled “The Hack” and written by multi award-winner Jack Thorne. The unveiling of the first look from “The Hack” — which shot last year — comes just a week after the hacking controversy concerning Rupert Murdoch’s U.

From Jack Thorne ('His Dark Materials'), the seven-part drama will dive into the exposure of Britain's most infamous press scandal, led by the bullish investigative journalist Nick Davies.

The Hack is a 7-part ITV Studios co-production with Stan, Australia about the phone hacking scandal written by Jack Thorne, with David Tennant, Robert Carlyle and Toby Jones in leading roles and produced by the team from Mr Bates vs The Post Office.
