The Chicago White Sox acquired infielder Gage Workman in a trade with the Chicago Cubs on Saturday. The White Sox sent cash to the Cubs for Workman, who was designated for assignment on Wednesday. Infielder Nick Maton was designated for assignment by the South Siders to make room on their roster.

Gage Workman was traded across town, the Cubs moving on from another option as they try to figure out the hot corner.

“Prior to today’s game at the Athletics, the Chicago White Sox acquired infielder Gage Workman from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for cash considerations and designated infielder Nick Maton for assignment,” the White Sox's account on X, formerly Twitter, wrote.
