After nine years in office, Justin Trudeau resigned amid growing pressure from within his party and beyond, stating that Canada deserves a "real choice" in the next election. Acknowledging the internal battles, he recognised was no longer the best option for Canadians.

Justin Trudeau announced Monday that he was also stepping down as leader of Canada’s Liberal Party. He will remain in both roles until a replacement is chosen.
