The Opta supercomputer has made Arsenal favourites to win the Champions League. The Gunners have been given a 56% chance of making it through their semi-final against Paris St-Germain and 32% of winning a potential final against Barcelona or Inter Milan.

Merino missed the Gunners’ most recent match - against Crystal Palace last Wednesday - and was a doubt for the first leg of Arsenal’s semi-final against PSG at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday. The Spaniard, however, took part in training on Monday afternoon and is expected to be fit for the game.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is urging his players to believe they can win the Champions League for the first time because they have already beaten “the best opposition you can face in the competition.
