American activist who put his life on the line to bring equality and justice to all during the Civil Rights movement died, but those who honor the reformation Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. created continue to remember his name.

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has announced that Monday, January 20, 2025, is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in the State of Arkansas.

The U.S. is set to mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the federal holiday set aside to honor the life of the civil rights icon. But in Alabama and Mississippi, Monday is also Robert E. Lee Day in honor of the Confederate general.
