Right after his self-driving Cybertruck crashed into a light post, a Florida man thanked Tesla for "the best safety in the world." On Feb. 9, Jonathan Challinger posted on social media site X that his Tesla Cybertruck operating on self-driving technology failed to merge out of an ending lane before driving straight over a curb and into a lamppost.

The Tesla Cybertruck finally has an official crash safety rating more than a year after deliveries began in Nov. 2023. The result is impressive: five stars overall and in almost all individual categories.

In a post that has gone viral, Jonathan Challinger said his Tesla Cybertruck in self-driving mode crashed into a pole across from Stead Elementary School in Reno.
