Washington and Lee University to lend portrait of George Washington to Museum of History and Culture
Washington and Lee University announced they will be lending their portrait of George Washington to the Virginia Museum of History and Culture for an upcoming exhibition.
The Washington family moved to Ferry Farm Plantation in 1738. Located on the Rappahanock River, Washington would spend most of his childhood there. George was only 11 years old when his father died.
