Byrum is a graduate of Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University. She is a parent educator with Nell Holcomb and Oak Ridge school districts.

Barbara H. Wantland, 87, of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, December 18, 2021, at The Waters of Bristol in Bristol, TN. A private memorial service will be held in Oak Ridge, TN.
