The Krewe of Rex parade route has changed due to incoming severe weather and high winds, the New Orleans Police Department announced early Tuesday. Rex will roll at 9:30 from its traditional start location at Napoleon and Claiborne avenues. The krewe will travel down St. Charles Avenue to Calliope Street. The procession will end there.

This year's Rex King of Carnival is Edward Howell Crosby, and his Queen is Miss Tatum Lady Reiss. Crosby toasted his queen at Pascal's Manale restaurant Uptown. The toast was previously held at Gallier Hall.
