LONDON, July 10 (Reuters) - Amanda Anisimova tore up the script and soared into her maiden Wimbledon final by outclassing world number one Aryna Sabalenka with fierce determination and fearless shot-making on Thursday and will meet Iga Swiatek for a shot at Grand Slam glory.
AMERICAN AMANDA ANISIMOVA reached her first Wimbledon semi-final with a 6-1, 7-6 (11/9) victory over Russian world number 50 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova on Tuesday. Anisimova, seeded 13th, saved five set points in a dramatic second set on Court One before finally sealing the win at the fourth time of asking.
Aryna Sabalenka grabbed the last three games to reach the Wimbledon semifinals by overcoming 104th-ranked Laura Siegemund on Tuesday.
