India’s hopes of salvaging a draw in the final Test at Old Trafford have received a boost with confirmation that injured wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will bat on Day 5, despite suffering a toe fracture earlier in the match. Pant sustained the injury in the first innings while attempting a reverse sweep off Chris Woakes.

Since injuring his foot on day one, Rishabh Pant has been unable to keep wickets, but he may still come out to bat if the team needs him on the final day.

Ruled out of the fifth Test, Rishabh Pant will play a part on Day 5 at The Old Trafford, Manchester if the need arises.
