A Georgia lottery player tried their luck playing Powerball — and hit the jackpot. A single ticket sold in the Peach State matched five numbers and the Powerball to win the estimated $478.2 million prize in the drawing Wednesday, Oct. 23, results show. The grand prize has a cash value of $230 million, per the Powerball website.

The last two jackpot winners won back in August. A lucky California player won a $44.3 million Powerball jackpot on Aug. 19. And the week before, on Aug. 12, a Pennsylvania player won the $213.8 million jackpot.

A winning ticket for Wednesday's Powerball drawing was sold at a Georgia convenience store — netting the lucky buyer a $478 million jackpot.
