The Miami Dolphins cannot catch a break for their secondary, as their starting safety has suffered what appears to be a significant injury.

MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins linebacker Chop Robinson was honored as one of the best rookie defensive players last season. If Jaelan Phillips is correct, that honor isn’t even close to what’s in store for Robinson. “I truly feel like Chop is going to be one of the best players in the league very soon,” Phillips said.

Via multiple reporters on the scene, safety Ashtyn Davis suffered an apparent lower-leg injury during team drills in Tuesday’s practice. Davis was able to limp inside the team facility for further examination. He then came back out on crutches and sporting a boot on his left foot.

MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins cornerback Jack Jones isn’t claiming his troubles are just a misunderstanding. He’s not blaming anyone else. He understands why so many NFL teams passed on him, and how he went from being a starter last year to nearly being out of football this year.

However, Eichenberg is currently on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and several other lineman -- including newcomers Larry Borom and Daniel Brunskill -- are in the mix for roster spots. If the Dolphins could find a team interested in trading assets to acquire Eichenberg, there wouldn't be much reason to say no.
