A cookery writer has decided to ditch the traditional oven and cook her entire Christmas dinner using air fryers. Self-confessed "air fryer bore" Beverley Jarvis, from Ashford in Kent, will use five of the appliances to feed 11 of her loved ones a festive feast.

The air fryer is a versatile kitchen appliance. However, it is not suitable for some types of food and can even damage the device.

Place the turkey breast side down into a lined airfryer and cook at 180C for 35 minutes. Lift the turkey out of the airfryer, turn it over and baste in any juices. Cook for a further 35 minutes at 180C, or when cooked through and the juices run clear. Brush with the remaining herb butter once or twice during cooking.
