The Philadelphia Flyers grinded out a 3-1 win over the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday afternoon, the Philadelphia Flyers traveled to Newark, New Jersey to take on the New Jersey Devils for the first time this season. In a tight contest, the Flyers took it 2-1 in regulation.

NEWARK, N.J. — The Flyers won a defensive grind over the Devils, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at the Prudential Center. Matvei Michkov and Bobby Brink provided the Flyers' first two goals. Brink's came in the third period on the power play to give the Flyers the lead. Noah Cates and Tyson Foerster had assists on the marker.

After defeating the New York Islanders on Thursday, 5-3, the Philadelphia Flyers (21-20-6) traveled down to Newark, New Jersey, to take on the New Jersey Devils (26-16-6) in another Metropolitan Division showdown.

Hamilton's sixth tally of 2024-25 opened the scoring at the 2:17 mark of the first period and ended his 19-game goal drought. He didn't have a point in two outings entering Saturday's action following a three-game assist streak. Hamilton has compiled 29 points through 48 outings this season.

The Devils and Philadelphia Flyers played a low-scoring, low-event hockey game at Prudential Center Saturday afternoon. With both teams locked in defensively, it would come down to a mistake or two that would be the difference in the game.

The Flyers held the Devils to a season-low 14 shots. New Jersey’s previous low was 16 shots against Edmonton in a 3-0 win back on Nov. 4. It was also a season low for shots allowed by the Flyers this season. Their previous low was 17 vs. Toronto.

Sam Ersson made 22 saves for his second shutout of the season and the Philadelphia Flyers beat Anaheim 6-0 on Saturday night in Cutter Gauthier’s first visit to Philadelphia since being traded to the Ducks a year ago.
