The most far-reaching of Ohio's laws restricting abortion was struck down by a county judge who said last year's voter-approved amendment enshrining reproductive rights​ renders the law unconstitutional.

"The State of Ohio seeks not to uphold the constitutional protection of abortion rights, but to diminish and limit it," Judge Christian Jenkins wrote.

In a landmark decision, an Ohio judge has declared a state law prohibiting most abortions unconstitutional. This ruling aligns with the will of Ohio's voters, who had previously endorsed a referendum in 2023 to safeguard abortion rights within the state's constitution.
