The switch from Daylight Saving Time to standard time is coming, when we’ll trade an hour of extra sleep for less daylight.

Fall is officially here in Chicago, which means the days are unmistakably getting shorter as nighttime hours will increase up until the winter solstice.

That can only mean one thing: daylight saving time is coming to an end. The U.S. has been changing the clocks twice a year since the 1970s after multiple failed attempts at observing daylight saving time year-round.
