Stock Market LIVE Updates | The markets remained in a consolidation phase, dropping almost one percent as the corrective trend continued last week. Ongoing selling by FIIs, mixed corporate earnings, and a significant increase in crude oil prices negatively affected investor sentiment.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a higher start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,290 level, a premium of nearly 23 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

Indian benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex ended the previous trade session in the red. Nifty 50 closed at 23,203.20, while Sensex ended at 76,619.33. Asian shares were were in the green in early trade today.

Indian equity benchmark indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty50, tanked in opening trade on Friday. While BSE Sensex was down oner 450 points, Nifty50 was below 23,200.

At 11.30 am, the BSE Senex was down 619.32 points or 0.80 per cent at 76,423.50. The 50-pack NSE Nifty stood at 23,155.15, down 156.65 points or 0.67 per cent.
