Saif Ali Khan was stabbed by the intruder multiple times during Thursday's incident inside his 12th floor apartment at 'Satguru Sharan' building in the upscale Bandra West area of Mumbai.

The Mumbai police said crucial CCTV footage of from a mobile shop in Dadar helped them identify the accused, identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad.

The official said that relevant sections of the Passport Act have been added to the case as the police have doubts that the accused is of Bangladeshi origin.

Mumbai police said that the accused was using multiple names including Vijay Das, Bijoy Das and Mohammed Iliyas and is currently lodged at Khar Police station.
