Sam Burns reached the midway point of the weather-hit final round of the U.S. Open clinging to a one-shot lead over Australian Adam Scott at a water-logged Oakmont Country Club where earlier rain caused a near two-hour delay in play.

Adam Scott is making his presence felt at the 2025 US Open, entering the third round as the most consistent player in the entire field at Oakmont Country Club.

From an overhead view, the sight is somewhat jarring. The Pennsylvania Turnpike essentially cuts Oakmont's golf course in half.

The 125th U.S. Open is taking place this week outside of Pittsburgh at Oakmont Country Club, and after a dry, hot start, shower and storm chances will increase for the weekend. Oakmont Country Club is hosting the tournament for a record 10th time this year, with the last one in 2016 when Dustin Johnson won.

While its legacy is often tied to PGA legends, it has also etched the names of two remarkable women: Paula Creamer and Patty Sheehan.
