Newly acquired quarterback Jameis Winston gives partial credit to Saquon Barkley for signing with the New York Giants.

Shortly after Winston signed his two-year/$8 million-dollar deal, the Giants signed another signal-caller, veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, to a one-year/$10.5 million dollar guaranteed deal. The Giants have the No. 3 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, and they could use their first-round selection on another quarterback.

Speaking for the first time since signing a two-year deal with the New York Giants, quarterback Jameis Winston described his feelings about signing with a team at an inflection point, and his relationship with presumed starter Russell Wilson.

Jameis Winston joined the New York Giants as a free agent, and then shrugged off the Russell Wilson free-agency move.

Jameis Winston said on Monday that his "initial vision approaching this offseason" was to find a team that would give him "either a starting role or bridge opportunity to be the starting quarterback," but it looks like he's destined for other things.
