McKee is expected to formally launch his run for reelection in March. His speech offered outlines of some possible campaign talking points.

In the speech, McKee focused on a variety of issues that his budget proposal, which will be revealed Thursday, plans to address, while also explaining progress on components of his 2030 plan.

McKee will need to prove that he can course correct on a difficult 2024, and offer a vision that begins to make the case to voters that he should remain in office through 2030.
