A car plowed into demonstrators in Munich on Thursday injuring at least 28 people, in what a local official said was a suspected attack, shortly before world leaders were due in the southern German city for a high-level security conference.

The car ramming into a rally in the Bavarian capital on Thursday has left at least 36 injured, German authorities said. Munich's prosecutor said there was no evidence linking the incident to terrorist organizations.

Authorities said a white car approached police vehicles accompanying a demonstration by striking workers, then accelerated and ploughed into the Munich crowd.
