The whisper at this week’s NFL owners meetings turned into a chorus: The New England Patriots are back. Over two days at the InterContinental New York Barclay, fellow owners and league executives repeatedly pointed to New England’s revival as one of the fall session’s dominant undercurrents,
The Patriots are reportedly not interested in upgrading their running back position ahead of the NFL trade deadline.
“I want to thank the Patriots organization and [owner Robert Kraft], it’s a full circle moment,” Guy said upon officially hanging up his cleats, via MassLive’s Karen Guregian. “I wanted to retire in New England because New England was my home. It’s a blessing that I get to be here to do this.”
The NFL is pleased with an increase in kickoff returns because of recent rule changes. The league reports 877 returns this season, a rate of 79.3% that is the highest since 2006 through the first seven weeks.

Mike Vrabel returned to Nashville to face the Tennessee Titans with the New England Patriots and left town with a win on Oct. 19. Not that that is anything unusual these days for the 1-6 Titans. The Titans allowed two touchdowns in 11 seconds in the third quarter and lost 31-13 to the Patriots at Nissan Stadium.
