Update: Alta Fire in Los Angeles County remains fully contained by Friday evening

Alta Fire initially started 1:06 p.m. May 21 at Block 230th St. W., East of Neenach in Los Angeles County, California. After being active for 32 hours, it has burned 334.5 acres. By Friday evening, the fire crew has achieved full containment of the blaze. The fire's cause remains under investigation.
