Chicago Cubs fans have just over a week to wait before their new star right fielder plays his first regular season game. Kyle Tucker and the Cubs will hop on a plane on March 11 and travel to Japan to play the Los Angeles Dodgers in the season opener on March 18 at the Tokyo Dome.

The Cubs brought right fielder Kyle Tucker over in a deal with the Astros and the eight-year veteran is enjoying his time in Chicago.

In joining the Cubs, Tucker has gone from a key member of the Astros' supporting cast to franchise star, even if it could be short lived.

Left-hander Matthew Boyd, who called Tucker “one of the best hitters in baseball,” had the less comfortable experience of facing Tucker in live BP. Tucker, an All-Star the last three seasons, is in the top 10 in OPS among qualified hitters over the last four seasons and has relatively even career splits against lefties and righties.
