One person was killed early Tuesday when a CSX freight train struck a vehicle at a railroad crossing in DeKalb County, authorities said.

As of Tuesday morning, the scene has reopened to both rail and vehicle traffic.

CSX said there were no injuries from a train derailment in Palmetto early Friday. Six rail cars went off track near Wilkerson Road and Roosevelt Highway around 2:23 a.m., a spokesperson for CSX said. There were no hazmat cars, no leaks or spills and not threat to the community, the company stated.

A CSX freight train derailed early Friday morning in south Fulton County, and officials say it briefly disrupted rail traffic, but no injuries or danger to the surrounding community was reported.
