Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. has been discussed as a potential trade target for the Detroit Pistons, per NBA insider Jake Fischer.
Brooklyn has historically been stubborn about dealing players until the front office gets the value they’re looking for out of trades. They held onto Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson quite a lot longer than expected and could do the same with Porter if the offer from the Pistons or any other team interested isn’t what they’re after.
The Pistons are the best team in the East but adding another elite scoring threat could put them over the top.
Michael Porter Jr. is drawing trade interest from the Bucks; will the Nets find this hypothetical offer of theirs acceptable?
Porter is in the middle of an All-Star-level season, averaging 25.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists on incredible 49-40-84 shooting splits. His stats aren't necessarily inflated despite the Nets' 11-26 record, because he's scoring with such efficiency and consistency.
