McCallum Principal Andy Baxa said in a letter to families that early Monday morning, school officials received a report of a social media threat against the school. Baxa said McCallum immediately notified the Austin ISD Police Department, which quickly identified the source of the post and made contact with the student's family.

McCallum High School was placed "in a hold" for about an hour on Wednesday afternoon while police investigated a bomb threat on the campus, according to an Austin school district spokesperson and McCallum parents.
