STARKVILLE — Vic Schaefer walked onto the court at Humphrey Coliseum shortly before tipoff to a round of applause from the Mississippi State women’s basketball crowd. A few minutes later, Schaefer was again applauded when his name was read by the PA announcer as the Texas coach.

Texas women's basketball coach Vic Schaefer will receive a contract extension through the 2030 season, pending approval from the Board of Regents. Schaefer will earn $2.3 million annually for the next two seasons before his salary increases to $2.4 million, with subsequent annual raises of $100,000.
