US President Donald Trump moves forward with an executive order that provides sanctions relief for Syria by the US Department of State and Treasury.

US Treasury says it removed 518 Syrian individuals and entities from its list of sanctions after president’s decree.

U.S. officials said sanctions against targets such as its central bank would end, but they would remain on Syria’s former dictator, Bashar al-Assad.
