Here’s a rundown of what got more expensive in September’s Consumer Price Index report — as well as a couple of key areas where consumers are seeing relief.
Grocery prices are on the rise – in part due to inflation and tariffs – and relief does not appear to be coming anytime soon. Food prices at grocery stores rose by 0.6% from July to August, the fastest monthly rate change for groceries since October of 2022, according to the latest consumer price index from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
