Ahead of San Diego State's women's volleyball matchup against San Jose State on Nov. 9, San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond today joined national anti-transgender people in sports activists to urge the Aztecs to not play the game.

San Jose State has had another match canceled after a fellow Mountain West school forfeited against the Spartans.

The universities released a statement saying the venue change was made for the well-being of students, coaches, spectators.

After weeks of controversy surrounding the Nevada women’s volleyball team, the Oct. 26 match against San Jose State has been moved from Reno to San Jose. Nevada released a joint statement with San Jose State via email. Both schools mutually agreed on the decision, and the Mountain West Conference approved the relocation of the match.

UNR says it has buses ready to take Nevada volleyball players to San Jose for match or back to Reno if they don't want to play.

Nevada has forfeited its Mountain West game against San Jose State "due to not having enough players to compete."
