A 14-year-old boy was killed and an 18-year-old is in custody. University police responded to an alarm at one of the Albuquerque campus' buildings at about 1:36 a.m. on July 25 and discovered broken windows and what appeared to be blood on the scene, New Mexico State Police Chief Troy Weisler said at news conference on the evening of July 25.

P olice have arrested a suspect in a shooting at the University of New Mexico campus Friday that left one person dead and another injured. The university campus in Albuquerque, N.M., was under a shelter-in-place order following the shooting in a student apartment building. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Friday, New Mexico State Police said.
