New York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba will not face discipline for a hit against Montreal's Justin Barron that drew no penalty but plenty of ire from Canadians players and fans alike, ESPN reported Wednesday.

Jacob Trouba caused a big stir when he hit Justin Barron during the New York Rangers’ game against the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night. Trouba checked Barron in the upper chest area as he fell to the ice and was on the ice in pain for several seconds before going to the locker room.

As part of the NHL’s ‘Frozen Frenzy’, all 32 teams played on Tuesday night and the schedule included a show down between the New York Rangers and Canadiens in Montreal. The night was a banger and especially for Habs’ Justin Barron who was crushed by Rangers captain Jacob Trouba, who has a knack for that sort of hits.
