California- based Church Brothers Farms has issued a voluntary recall for green onions sold to retailers in the U.S. and Canada due to the produce being linked to a potential salmonella contamination.

Green onions add flavor and color to many dishes such as stir-fries, potato salad, and in spreads or dips. If you have the vegetable in your refrigerator, you may want to check the label—green onions have been recalled in states across the U.S. due to potential salmonella contamination, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The contaminated green onions were sold at Trader Joe’s in Washington, D.C. and the following 28 states: No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall. The recalled green onions have a “pack date” of Sept. 25, that is listed on the packaging.

Green onions by Church Brothers are being recalled in 11 U.S. states and Canada after salmonella was found in a product sample.
