After Mark Vientos was scratched from the lineup before Friday night’s series opener against the Dodgers with left abdominal comfort and Brandon Nimmo had to come out in the third inning of the 13-inning loss due to a stiff neck, the Mets were looking at some serious questions about whether either would be able to play Saturday night.

Abdominal soreness prevented Vientos from getting into Friday's contest, and he'll sit out again Saturday while he continues to recover. Brett Baty will start at third base in his absence, and Jared Young will serve as the DH.
