Hyundai Motor Company and Avride have agreed to jointly develop autonomous vehicles in a tie up that will deepen the relationship between the two

Avride has partnered with Hyundai Motor Co to expand its fleet of robotaxis, and signed a deal with the South Korean automaker to jointly develop and operate self-driving vehicles, the companies said on Wednesday.

Hyundai Motor Company has signed a memorandum of understanding with Yandex spinoff Avride to accelerate autonomous mobility. Under the partnership, both the firms will jointly develop and operate vehicles capable of fully autonomous driving.

Avride currently operates fleets of sidewalk delivery robots in several cities and aims to launch a commercial robotaxi service in the near future. The company has been using the Ioniq 5 and the Hyundai Sonata as its test vehicles in Austin and Seoul for the past year.
