The German government says that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Berlin on Wednesday to join Chancellor Friedrich Merz for talks with European and U.S. leaders ahead of the Trump-Putin summit later this week.

President Donald Trump described his summit Friday with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the war in Ukraine as a “feel-out meeting.”

Ahead of a summit in Alaska between Trump and Putin, Russian troops continued their campaign to take full control of Ukraine's Donetsk region.
