The Biltmore Estate has announced plans to reopen ahead of the holidays after Hurricane Helene ripped through western North Carolina last month.

Buncombe County, which includes Asheville, miscounted the deaths during a period when communications were severely hampered by the storm, the sheriff’s office said.
